Many rural areas have an inadequate health care workforce supply to meet their health care needs. The demand for allied health care workers is projected to increase, worsening existing shortages in rural areas. The Rural Public Health Workforce Training Network Program aims to address this shortage by supporting public health job development, training, and placements in rural and tribal communities. This project will examine how the program's 32 grantees implemented their activities and will assess the impact of their program activities through review of their baseline, follow-up, and exit survey documents, as well as information contained in trainee surveys.
