Description

This study explores trends in co-occurring HIV and opioid-related hospitalizations and identifies key risk factors. Using National Inpatient Sample data from 2009-2017, our analysis indicated rural residents were less likely to be hospitalized, but, residents of the Northeast, patients identifying as White or Black, or those without private insurance were more likely to be hospitalized for co-occurring HIV and opioid related conditions.
